Verna Jones  is a Master level social worker in Texas with 15 years of working with the homeless population in Dallas county. She has 11 years of progressive experience with the Housing Crisis Center  as Caseworker/Co-Director of long-term Transitional Housing Program, as Director of Permanent Supportive Housing for veterans, and as Interim Executive Director. Verna Jones provides complete oversight of Under 1 Roof programs. She supervises caseworkers and social work interns, makes or approves the determination of services and oversees contract and data management.

Director of Legal Services

Vanessa Richardson Ousley is licensed to practice law in Texas. Since 2000, Ousley has provided legal support to low and very low income people in her positions at Legal Aid of Northwest Texas, Housing Crisis Center and City of Fort Worth. Ousley manages and provides the legal services needed by U1R clients, assisting program participants with legal advice and representation in administrative or court proceedings related to tenant/landlord matters or housing issues. Our legal services department will hold periodic landlord/tenant workshops to inform participants of their rights and responsibilities as a tenant, as well as assist them in addressing some of the other legal challenges they may be facing, including but not limited to Class C tickets and warrants, obtaining full VA benefits, Social Security benefits, representation at administrative hearings (food stamps, etc.). The legal services department will also assist in addressing family and criminal law concerns to ensure that program participants are gaining the maximum advantage of the assistance they are receiving.

Director of Finance

Pat Hawkins  has Bachelor Degree in Accounting with 30 years of experience in working in nonprofit finance. She supports the day to day accounting needs of U1R, reviewing request for funds, cutting checks and maintaining required documentation. She supports completion of required reports.

Director of Housing Services

The Director of Housing Services will be responsible for the overall arrangement, coordination, monitoring, and delivery of services related to meeting the housing needs of tenants as well as helping them obtain housing stability. This person will provide direct services to clients, supervise the caseworker, make or approve the determination of services and oversee contract and data management. U1R will utilize the best practice strategy of having program management staff on-site with program participants. This is a benefit to both the apartment complex and the participants.
